PRESERVING EYESIGHT
The results of the AREDS study (Age Related Eye Disease Study) were made public in 2001 in the USA. This study was carried out over 6 years on 3640 patients distributed across 11 health centres The patients included in the study presented either an age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), or macular lesions (serous drusen, etc.) caused by ageing.
The conclusions of this study are categorical: the administration of certain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals allow a clear improvement of at least 25% of patients treated. Furthermore, if a preventive treatment is started systematically from the age of 55, it is possible to significantly decrease the risk of appearance of ARMD, which is known to lead to a massive decrease in visual acuity. Given that beta carotenes must be abandoned due to the risk of lung cancer in smokers, other antioxidants were chosen (Co Q10, polyphenols, Se, etc.).- Lutein and zeathanthin are extracted from marigolds. They are components of macular pigments especially concentrated in the macula. The composition of SUN-VUE was established following exactly the recommendations of the AREDS study adapted to French legislation to comply with the RDAs.
SUN-VUE is also recommended in the prevention or delaying of the evolution of cataracts. Treatment to be continued as long as possible. – The recommended dosage is 2 capsules in the morning every day as soon as the eyesight begins to deteriorate or systematically from the age of 60.
