Description
Anti-depressant
Hypericum Perforatum (St John’s wort): its name comes from the numerous holes punched in its leaves. That perennial, flowered and invasive plant gets its fame thanks to its anti-depressing action scientifically proved and published a lot of times in medical magazines.
It is the general outcry from the pharmaceutical industry, worried by the fall of the antidepressants sales, that drew the attention on that humble flower.
When the St John’s wort is used to relieve from a chemical anti-depressant, this last one must be reduced progressively during several weeks by keeping therapeutic stages as long as necessary until a complete stop or a minimal essential dosage.
